Five MCCC members with their Corvettes cruised to Coos Bay to participate in the "Corvettes by the Bay Car Show." They enjoyed cool, but sunny weather and a great time was had by all. Dale and Joan Coles won best of class with their C-4 ZR-1.

Eight MCCC cars with their drivers and navigators pulled out of Lone Pine McDonald's on Friday morning and traveled the back roads through Wasco, Condon, Heppner, and Ukiah arriving in LaGrande for the Grande Ronde-A-View Weekend sponsored by the Union County Timber Cruisers Car Club. The Show attracted 105 entries and MCCC trophy winners included Bob & Bonnie Earls, Jack & Mary Carol Wallace, Bob & Mavis Olsen, and Dale & Joan Coles. Their return home on Sunday again took them across the beautiful Eastern Oregon countryside passing through the communities of Union , North Powder, Baker City, Sumpter, Prairie City, John Day, Mr. Vernon, Dayville, Spray, Fossil, Condon and Wasco. A great time was had by all.

The Prez Sez!

   Wow! Half a year is almost over and lots of cruises are going on. Just think, ‘Cruise the Gorge’ is only a little more than a month away. It seems like something keeps coming up so that Barb and I can't make the cruises.   Things like work or family obligations.
   It sounds like the Grace Baptist Show was a lot of fun.   We’re sorry we missed that with you guys.
    I do hope all you fathers and grandfathers had a great Fathers Day. Mine was good because I got to celebrate my daughter’s birthday, also.
    Remember… we have a whole new selection of ‘CTG’ and ‘MCCC’ caps.  Be sure to check out the selection each Wednesday at the Burgerville Cruise-Ins.
   As of June 25th we had 41 registrants for the Car Show.   Remember the CTG meeting at The Chronicle building on July 6th at 6:00 PM.     We still have two sign-up sheets for the Car Show, one for judging and one to help Barb and me sell T-Shirts, both at Burgerville on Friday evening during registration and on Saturday during the Show It's only for a one-hour shift which helps Barb and me get away so we can also enjoy the Show.
   Just a little food for thought……Take a few minutes out of your busy days to reflect on your life and the people that are dearest to you; for example, your spouse, your lifestyle, your health, your hobbies and you friends Keep them close and cherish what they mean to you.   Well enough of my   philosophy of life. Take in the Cruises, meetings at Spooky’s and Burgerville and enjoy the fellowship with our club members.

Some 20 cars with their drivers and navigators cruised to Madras to take part in its Centennial Celebration. One 36 Pontiac experienced (we won't identify the owner) some mechanical problems enroute and had to be towed to the show. Using his mechanical prowess the 36's owner was able revive his ride by installing a new altenator. A good time was had by all, especially those bringing home the hardware: Richard and Lorraine McCurdy with their 30 Model A Ford; Harrison and Nancy Bowlds with their 38 Chevrolet, and Doug and Nancy Stroh with their 56 Chev Nomad. Thanks to Prez John for organizing the cruise.

White Salmon Grace Baptist Show 6-16-10

Some 12 cars and their owners from MCCC participated in the show. Winning awards were Sam & Dessie Bilyeu with their 36 Pontiac (Under Construction); Gary and Gayle Mc Elheran with their 40 Ford (Peoples' Choice); and Dale & Joan Coles with their 49 Chev Pickup (Pastor's Choice).
